Resource Teacher Program

Resource Teacher Program

Resource Teachers help children - age two (2) to school entry - whose parents are concerned about their child's physical, social, emotional, or communication development.  Staff are specialists in early learning and child development.  Their goal is to help your child meet developmental milestones and build a solid foundation for success.  They will work closely with you to:

  • Identify your child's needs.
  • Help you develop an Individual Family Service Plan/Single Plan of Care that is focused on your goals and includes specific activities that address your child's developmental needs.
  • Help you link and connect to the therapies, services and supports you need from across the Early Intervention services system.
  • Co-ordinate efforts with all of the service providers supporting your child so that there is a team approach to your child's care.
  • Help you access any available funding or special subsidies.
  • Create detailed action plans for your child's successful transition to school.
