Catulpa Community Support Services is pleased to announce that Lesley Watts, Catulpa program manager for CAPC and CPNP programs in Simcoe County, has been chosen as this year’s recipient of the Child Youth and Family Services Coalition (Coalition) of Simcoe County’s Award of Excellence.
The award is given annually to an individual involved with the Coalition who, through a substantial commitment to collaboration, has made a significant impact regionally that has contributed to the outcomes identified in the Coalition’s strategic plan.
“I am happy and humbled to have been nominated, and selected as this year’s recipient of the Award of Excellence, says Lesley. I am ever-grateful for the opportunity to work with so many talented, committed and passionate people every day who share the vision of supporting and advocating for the well-being of children, youth, and families in our region.
The Coalition has been integral in providing a foundation for this shared vision and for creating endless opportunities for collaboration and integration amongst service providers. I am a proud member and honoured to receive this award.”
Nominated by Rosslyn Junke, Director of Community Impact, United Way Simcoe Muskoka, Lesley was recognized for her work to advance the four priorities and goals of the Coalition. Lesley has been a member of the Coalition since its inception, and has been involved on numerous committees and working groups of the Coalition. She currently sits on the Integrated Planning Table, Advocacy Group and Council and is also an active participant on the Best Start and the Poverty Reduction Task groups.
Lesley is credited for being a natural and generous mentor to her colleagues, always willing to share her expertise and provide input. A big picture strategic thinker, Lesley always looks for ways to move the Coalition’s collective work, with an emphasis on prevention and improving systems. Lesley is an ardent advocate to people impacted by poverty and food insecurity and is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of infant and early childhood intervention and prevention.
Catulpa Community Support Services congratulates Lesley on this well-deserved honour. We are pleased to join the Coalition in recognizing her accomplishments within Simcoe County to advance the Coalition’s Vision for all children, youth and families thriving in a strong, nurturing community.
