Regional Complex Care Services support children and youth (under the age of 18) who have been approved for special needs funding by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services. These services support families in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of an Integrated Service Plan (ISP) to address the complex and changing needs of children, youth, and their families.

Approval for this funding is sought through a resolution process that ensures that all resources available through the funded system of support and services have been accessed.
Support Provided Through The Program:
Regional Complex Care Services are for families with children and youth (under the age of 18) requiring long-term, specialized services or supports for day-to-day activities, and who have exhausted local resources and undergone a Service Resolution Process at a local and regional level.
Funding is provided by the Ministry of Children, Community, and Social Services. There is no fee for this service.
Referral for Regional Complex Care Services is facilitated through the Regional Service Resolution Process only. The Regional Service Resolution Process helps to provide consistent, transparent, and equitable decision-making in situations where the needs of the child or youth and family are extensive or of longer duration and are beyond the resources available in the local community.
The service is provided by a Regional Service Resolution Committee (RSR). The committee reviews the Intensive Services Coordination Services Integrated Service Plan and makes recommendations for changes or access to other resources to assist in meeting the needs of the child or youth and their family.
Families or service providers (with consent) may self-refer to Intensive Services Coordination. Please see the regional contact information below.
