Catulpa Community Support Services is actively seeking passionate individuals residing in the County of Simcoe or York Region who have a keen interest in services and programs for individuals with special or unique needs. We invite applications for a Volunteer Board of Directors role where successful candidates will play a crucial role in overseeing the agency’s governance and shaping its future policies. Individuals with disabilities and those from diverse backgrounds and experiences are encouraged to apply.
Currently, Catulpa Community Support Services invites volunteer applicants with a skillset or background in any of the following areas: Lived Experience or Care Giving Role, Governance, Public Relations, Accounting
Role & Time Commitment
The Catulpa Community Support Services Board is responsible for the effective governance of the agency through oversight of strategic planning, fiscal review and determination of mission-related policy. It is not responsible for fundraising, personnel, programs, services, curricula or budgets. Volunteer members provide special skills and knowledge (finance, law, social services, healthcare, etc.) within the Board setting. Meetings take place virtually and/or in-person in Barrie, Ontario, six times annually for approximately three hours per meeting. Catulpa Community Support Services is a FOCUS-accredited registered non-profit agency that has been serving children, youth, adults and families with special or unique needs since 1973. Currently extending support and services in The County of Simcoe, York Region, Durham Region and the Four Counties, Catulpa is comprised of a team of approximately 100 staff that work in collaboration with government agencies and community partners in an effort to achieve the best outcomes for all those it serves.
